He said that the agreement includes the terms agreed by both parties in resolving the issue related to Splash.

“This agreement has entered the final stage, and it is expected to be signed this weekend or next week.

“As announced previously, we have delayed Splash until it is solved according to the Water Services Industry Act (WSIA),” he said during a press conference after the Exco meeting today.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid, also informed that the sale and purchase agreement will be signed this week.

This includes a series of agreement signing sessions that enable Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad (KEDB) to acquire the water concessionaires in Selangor.

On August 1, the State Government, represented by Abdul Khalid, signed the Heads of Agreement (HoA) with the Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili.

The offer amounting to RM9.65 billion for the four water concessionaires was finalised to implement the Water Services Industry Restructuring and the construction of the Langat 2 project which was planned since 2006.

However, only the acquisition of Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor (SPLASH) has yet to be finalised.

Apart from Splash, the three other Selangor water concessionaires are the Selangor Water Supply Company (Syabas), Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd (PNSB) and Konsortium Abbas Sdn Bhd (Abbas)
