CM confirmed absence at the Disciplinary Board, asked to postpone it to August 15

SHAH ALAM, 8 Aug: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim confirmed that he will not be attending the hearing with the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Disciplinary Board on some issues raised, which was scheduled to take place this evening, due to lack of time.

Instead, he asked for the hearing to be postponed to August 15, as notified in a show cause letter because it was sent by his Political Secretary, Mustafa Mohd Talib, to the PKR headquarters this morning.

“The letter has been sent this morning and because I do not have enough time, I have asked for the hearing to be done on August 15, if necessary.

“I’m not going (to the trial) because I have a meeting with the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Senator Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar, who is coming to Selangor to discuss the progress of the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP),” he said.

He said this after facing the Sultan of Selangor with officer and staff of the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) at the Silver Jubilee Hall today.

In the meantime, Abdul Khalid said that the contents of the letter will also be disclosed for public attention.

He said that the written response did not specifically answer the six issues raised; instead it is just a written reply.

He also denied having discussed any political issues with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

“I did not discuss any political matters with the Sultan,” he added.

Among the questions that Khalid has to answer is on the restructuring of the water in Selangor, the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex), the out of court settlement on the Bank Islam debt, the new Chief Minister’s allowance and the increase in business licence tax.
