KUALA SELANGOR, 24 July: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the Sultan of Selangor, Tuanku Sharafuddin Idris Shah, told him to carry out this responsibility and trust as Chief Minister of Selangor.
“I said to the Sultan, I will continue working until I am no longer Chief Minister,” he said.
Abdul Khalid said this after completing the Sultan of Selangor’s Iftar with the people at the Kampung Assam Jawa Mosque yesterday.
When asked about Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) insistence of him resigning, Abdul Khalid said that a statement will be issued on the same issue in the near future.
Previously, in a press statement, the Pakatan Rakyat Leadership Council said that PAS and DAP will take the proposal to replace Abdul Khalid with Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah as Chief Minister to the respective party’s highest level meetings.
