The decision for KIDEX should be professional, not for political reasons

SHAH ALAM, 7 JUNE: Every outcome and decision for the Damansara – Kinrara Highway (KIDEX) project will be made according to professional studies for the sake of the people and not for any political agenda.

Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, he encourages the parties involved in the project to meet and explain to the public regarding the project which is expected to solve traffic congestion for the next 20 years.

“It is better for us to listen to the details provided by the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), KIDEX and the state planners regarding their plans to solve traffic congestions for the time being and for 20 years to come.”

“As a professional, I cannot simply make decisions according to political urges.”

“We need to put the people’s welfare as our main agenda and find the best solution for problems,” he said after launching the Badminton International Invitation Foo Kok Keong Cup 2014, here.

Abdul Khalid also recommends that the parties involved in the project would source for different alternatives to solve any problems that arise.

“If something goes wrong, we do not need to stop the project abruptly but we can search for an alternative to rectify the issue,” he said.

At the same time, the Foo Kok Keong International Invitation Cup 2014 was held from the 6 till the 8th of June at the Shah Alam Club Badminton Hall which features former badminton stars from overseas and in the country.

Among the former badminton stars that will feature in the cup is Foo Kok Keong, Razif Sidek, Soh Goon Chup and Tan Kim Soon. The winner of the competition will bring home the prize money of RM40, 000.
Besides former Malaysia internationals, invitations were also sent out to former international stars from Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore.
