CM: State Revenue for the People’s Welfare

KAJANG, 9 Mar: A total of 80 lucky recipients of the Selangor Children’s Heritage Fund (TAWAS) celebrated their birthday with the Chief Minister of Selangor, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, at Kampung Sungai Sekamat today.

Abdul Khalid stressed that the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) programme will always safeguard the welfare of its recipients, regardless of age.

Abdul Khalid said that TAWAS recipients born in 2008 have received their Jom Shopping (Let’s Go Shopping) contribution, while recipients born in 2009 and 2010 will receive a bonus of RM30.

“The TAWAS programme will bring us together and all children of Selangor with the State Government.

“The Selangor Government, under the leadership of Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will always ensure that all people of the state feel welfare from state revenue,” he said.

Recipients will also be given death benevolence insurance worth RM1500 to registrants who die before the age of 18.

Most of the recipients’ parents expressed gratitude for the programme organised by the Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (YAWAS).

Raja Nor Fauzura Raja Mohd Fauzi said that she was very grateful when she received news that her daughter, Raja Nor Farisha Raja Mohd Saleh, was chosen as one of the Tawas recipients.

“Our family is grateful to the State Government and TAWAS. Such events are very good because it can bring people together, regardless of race,” she said when interviewed.

The mother of recipient, Ratiah Abbas, said that she was very surprised when her youngest daughter, Nur Zalaikha Abdullah, was contacted to celebrate her birthday with the Chief Minister.

“To us, it is not easy to be chosen as a recipient and Alhamdulillah, my youngest child is very lucky to be chosen. I am very grateful and touched by the State Government’s efforts,” she said.

Abdul Khalid also presented account statement certificates worth RM1500 to each of the 80 recipients at the event which was also attended by the Executive Councillor in charge of Women and Welfare, Rodziah Ismail and the Advisor of YAWAS, Datuk Anuar Md Zin, as well as 500 residents.
