Wan Azizah: Vendor Denies RM1 Chicken are being Sold

KAJANG, 13 Mar: The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate for N25 Kajang, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, found that there is no chicken being sold at RM1 as claimed by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In a session where Wan Azizah met with vendors at the Kajang Market at 8am this morning, she asked several chicken traders if they sold chicken at RM1 each.

“I asked the chicken vendor, is there any RM1 chicken? They said no. They immediately pointed to the sign written chicken is RM8.40 per kilogram,” she told reporters.

Quoting a report in Harakah Daily, she said that the Kajang Market will also be given attention, especially in terms of infrastructure that needs to be repaired and the most important thing is cleanliness.

“Today we only met with vendors here to introduce the candidate and we will hold further meetings with vendors.

“We will list priorities and that is the first things to be done,” she said.

Various items that can be found at the Kajang Market are wet and dry goods, clothes, and some wholesale stores that are visited by small businesses.

During the occasion, Wan Azizah also bought petai (stink bean) and was given a bouquet of roses by a vendor.

“Yesterday I went to the night market, I bought jackfruit and meat. I bought petai to cook sambal petai,” she said, admitting that petai is her favourite dish but only eats it sometimes.

The Kajang Market is the only market in the area, making it the focal point of residents there.
