A total of 180 participants attended the Bangi State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sewing Workshop at Sungai Ramal Dalam, Sungai Ramal Luar, Jalan 6 Bandar Baru Bangi, Taman Jasmin and Bukit Mahkota Bandar Seri Putera.
The workshop especially for women takes place two hours every weekend, every fortnightly, to learn techniques in sewing baju kurung and jubah by Mahani Yaakop.
The briefing on the operation at the Local COmmunity Service Central (PKMS) at Bandar Seri Putera was presented by the Putra Mahkota Sewing Workshop Coordinator, Haslina Mohamad Ali.
The Bangi Assemblyman, Shafie Ngah, also said that the provisions for women is the largest in the 2014 Budget for the Bangi DUN.
He also presented five sewing machines and two machines for the use of the workshop.
Apart from the workshop, PKMS also organised an Aerobics, Sleek and Stylish Healthy Women event and Visiting Senior Citizens.
“We will also organise an Al-Quran Localising programme and a Wonder Chef programme to teach children to be independent in providing their breakfast and lunch,” he said.
