Sultan of Selangor: Elected Representatives Should be Committee in Serving the People

SHAH ALAM, 7 Apr: His Royal Highness (Duli Yang Maha Mulia) the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, reminded all elected representatives to not contradict and argue on useless things, and instead to carry out their duties prudently for the benefit and welfare of the people.

He commanded for all Assemblymen to ensure that the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) meeting is carried out in an orderly manner, according to rules of discourse and prudently as well as have good ethics.

“I do not think that it is appropriate if there are elected representatives or public servants that try to disrupt the running of the Selangor Government administration which is working hard to help ease the people’s cost of living through various programmes under the Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) agenda,” the Sultan said.

The Sultan said this at the Opening Ceremony of the Second Session of the 13th Selangor State Assembly Session Meeting for 2014.

The Sultan also urged all parties, including civil servants, community leaders and the youth, as well as the corporate and private sector, to work together with the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, to implement state development policies and programmes.

“It is to improve the people’s quality of life and boost development in Selangor,” the Sultan said.
