CM Launches Kajang By-Election Main Operations Room

Kajang, 4 Mar: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) launches the Main Operations Room in conjunction with the Kajang by-election and was inaugurated by the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

The ceremony at Batu 12 1/2, Jalan Cheras, was also attended by the PKR Deputy President, Mohamed Azmin Ali, the Wanita Chief, Zuraida Kamaruddin, and the Selangor Exco, Elizabeth Wong.

Abdul Khalid said that the operations room which will be the media’s focus will be open every day after the candidate nomination on 11 March.

He said that the media are welcome to use the equipment provided to perform tasks and to obtain more information during the campaign period.

“We practice an aspect of transparency in terms of allowing the media to obtain media and perform analysis on the views and observations of PKR.

“We hope for professional coverage from all parties so that democracy can be accepted as the basis of leadership in the country which is performed the best way possible,” said the Kajang By-Election Machinery Director.

At the event, Twitter “Anwar4Kajang” and Facebook “AnwarKajang” were also launched to allow the people to know the latest activity of the PKR candidate, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

An estimate of about 50 media, mainstream and alternative, attended the ceremony.

The Kajang by-election will witness a clash between Anwar and the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, on 23 March.
