SHAH ALAM, 18 Apr: The Selangor Government will be giving housing subsidies to buyers, just like what is being done by the Federal Government.
The Selangor Executive Councillor of Housing, Iskandar Abdul Samad, said that this subsidy is in the form of selling lower than the cost of construction.
“For example, for 124 affordable housing units in Bandar Baru Bangi, which was recently completed by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), the construction cost is around RM130,000, but the selling price is RM100,000.
“This means the subsidy given to each buyer is RM30,000,” he said in a written reply to the Assemblyman of Jeram, Datuk Amiruddin Setro.
In addition, for the Bukit Botak or Selayang Mutiara housing project, a total of 1,196 former urban explorers were offered to buy homes at RM99,000, despite the market price being above RM200,000.
The Selangorku Homes project, which was recently launched, will be sold at cost price.
“It is expected that the price cut subsidies which will be enjoyed by buyers this time is more than RM30,000, provided by the MyHome programme,” he said.
