Selangor Becomes Pakatan Rakyat’s Launchpad to Putrajaya – Rafizi

SHAH ALAM, 29 Jan: Selangor has been transformed into a ‘launchpad’ for Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to capture Putrajaya in the 14th General Election (GE14), said the PKR Strategy Director, Rafizi Ramli.

“Istambul became the ‘launchpad’ for Erdogan as Jakarta was for Jokowi. Selangor is also able to be a good ‘launchpad’ for PR to take over Putrajaya.

“I also hope that the measures taken will be the moving point for us to move on to Putrajaya,” he said, hoping that the difficult period, which he called the Kajang Move, will be remembered when Putrajaya is captured.

Yesterday, the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, announced Anwar as the candidate for the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seat which was vacated by Lee Chin Cheh on 27 January.

The nomination received blessings from the top leadership of PAS and DAP, who promised to help in a greater win in Kajang.

Through his blog, he shed light on the decision why the PKR de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is contesting for the Kajang DUN seat in an article entitled ‘The Kajang Move” Game Changer in Putrajaya Quest’.

In the same article, Rafizi said that a more radical approach is necessary to solve a number of issues, in addition to continuing the administrative practice of transparency and integrity by Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

He wanted the plan for affordable public housing to be more vibrant, for the water resources development plan to be more assertive, in addition to protecting the rights of the minority in the state who are often attacked by Umno.

“I certainly believe we can do better especially with regard to cleanliness and livelihood of the people,” he said.

At the same time, Rafizi expressed gratitude to the leadership of component parties, DAP and PAS, who are so understanding in this strategy.
