PETALING JAYA, 28 Jan: Selangor is an important platform in Pakatan Rakyat’s efforts to capture Putrajaya in the 14th General Election (GE14), said the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) de facto leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said that all three parties in the coalition will focus on the workings of the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-elections which will be held soon.
“Our collective decision is to ensure that the Pakatan Rakyat as a whole would move to make Selangor a firm foundation.
“We are supporting the current good performance of Selangor to be an important platform in proving our ability to take over Putrajaya,” said Anwar in a press statement at the PKR Headquarters today.
Prior to that, the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, announced that Anwar will be contesting for the Kajang DUN seat.
He said with the participation of the Parliamentary Opposition Leader, Selangor will be able to pursue excellence in the state government.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) will hold a special meeting to discuss regarding the Kajang DUN seat on 5 February.
