Establishment of KRT at Section 7 Lestari Perdana Managed to Reduce Crime

SERI KEMBANGAN, 16 Jan: The establishment of the Rukun Tetangga Club (KRT) in Section 7 Lestari Perdana two years ago managed to reduce crime and immoral activities in the area.

The Chairman of the KRT, Hairi Eerahim, said that the KRT played a role in improving public safety compared to before, although patrolling is carried out once a week or on a public holiday.

He said that he hopes all residents in Section 7 Lestari Perdana are open-minded and positive in the effort to make the KRT a liaison organisation towards racial harmony.

“It is hoped that cooperation from all parties can ensure the success of programmes organised by the KRT, especially the Voluntary Patrolling Scheme (SRS),” he said in his speech.

He said that close cooperation between residents participating in the SKS or members of the KRT may effectively establish harmony among the local population.

Hairi Eerahim was elected the Chairman of the Rukun Tetangga (Neighbourhood Watch) in Section 7 Lestari Perdana, Bandar Putra Permai in Seri Kembangan, Selangor, for the 2014/2015 session during a general meeting held recently.

Meanwhile, a civil servant in Putrajaya, Mohd Nasir Hussin, was elected as the Deputy President in the meeting attended by the majority of KRT members living in the area, which has 10 four-storey blocks.

Meanwhile, two retirees, Isa Ramli and Shaharuddin Yusof were respectively elected as Secretary and Treasurer and the position of Secretary’s Assistant was filled by a Bank of Commerce employee, Mohamad Abdul Razak Ahmad.
