Selangor Regards the Value of Young People as More Expensive than Gold Mines

SHAH ALAM, 6 Dec: The Selangor Government regards the youth as the most valuable asset to be polished as a future generation that is knowledgeable and capable, for the advancement of the country.

The Executive Councillor in charge of Education, Higher Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Halimah Ali, was proud of the achievements of human capital because Selangor has achieved progress, crowning it as the most advanced and riches state without relying on natural resources.

“Selangor has no oil, no gold, even our timber has been exhausted, sand has decreased, and other natural resources are not much. But the most valuable asset is all of you, children, as future human capital.

“The State Government wants to see children as being more valuable and more expensive than oil wells and gold mines. This is how we value people in Selangor,” she said.

She said this at the Yayasan Selangor Special Form Five Education Programme at the Banquet Hall here at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Silver Jubilee Hall Building yesterday.

Also present was the General Manager of Yayasan Selangor, Ilham Marzuki, and the Senior Manager of the Education Department, Zahura Zakry.

Dr Halimah also expressed appreciation to Yayasan Selangor and described the role played by the foundation as producing individuals who are developed in terms of personality, presentation and leadership.
