Nurul Izzah Welcome Abdul Khalid to be Appointed Kajang By-Election Director

SHAH ALAM, 3 Feb: The Vice President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Nurul Izzah Anwar, welcomes for the Selangor Chief Minister, tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, to be appointed as the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election Director.

She said that Abdul Khalid’s presence as the Kajang by-election Director and the PKR Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, as candidate is a close coupling to smoothen the Kajang by-election machinery.

“Tan Sri Abdul Khalid, with proven track record of managing the Selangor state economy by involving a variety of programmes for the people and Datuk Anwar Ibrahim, apart from his excellent track record when he was the Finance Minister is also known as a strong politician that advocates the people’s interests.

“I am confident that Abdul Khalid and Anwar’s partnership will be a partnership that will move the campaign machinery more effectively,” she said when contacted by Selangor Kini today.

Nurul Izzak also slammed the statement by the Umno Information Chief, Datuk Ahmad Maslan, who proves the party’s tendency to defame, including using sex politics as their political campaign material.

“He is just singing Umno’s tune of liking to defame and use dirty politics such as sex defamation to win.

“This is a very irresponsible action in educating healthy mentality to the people. Is this how leaders shape the people’s mentality? What’s more unfortunate is that such calls have been issued by ministers themselves and this is the mentality of the ministers we have,” said the Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai.

However, she is confident that the voters in Kajang will be able to evaluate, thus rejecting the play of dirty politics by Umno in the by0election.

“Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will return to the issue of how this by-election will be used as an opportunity to organise steps to create a vision and agenda for reform to uphold the people of Kajang and Selangor better,” she said.
