Abdul Khalid Important in Selangor’s Administration after the Kajang By-Election – Anwar

SHAH ALAM, 3 Feb: The Opposition Leader, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, stressed that the Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, will remain in the state’s administration team after the Kajang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) by-election.

Anwar said that further details about Abdul Khalid’s position will only be discussed after Pakatan Rakyat (PR) wins the seat.

“(Abdul Khalid’s position), we will take care of it after the by-election and Khalid’s role is important based on his track record.

“Whether his position is the same or different, I think that he should play a role in helping Selangor,” he said, quoted from The Malaysian Insider.

Anwar stressed that supporting all leaders, including the PKR Vice President, Mohamed Azmin Ali; Abdul Khalid and himself, is the ‘shadow of the team’ which will administer the riches state in Malaysian after the Kajang by-election.

“Anwar has to win the Kajang by-election first…I need their support,” he said.

Anwar was announced as the candidate of the Kajang DUN by Abdul Khali after the Kajang Assemblyman, Lim Chin Cheh, resigned.

In the 13th General Election (GE13), PKR won the seat with a majority of 6,824 votes in a six-cornered clash between BN, BERJASA and three independent candidates.
