The Mayor of Shah Alam, Datuk Mohd Jaafar Mohd Atan, said that the Shah Alam Street Site in Section 2 will change the negative perception with a enlivening and cleaning project which is capable of providing an opportunity to the community, especially students of schools and public institutions of higher learning, to showcase their talent and creativity.

He said that the project was made possible through a smart partnership between MBSA and the bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad corporate company which provided a contribution of RM20,000 to implement the project, which costs a total of RM30,000.

“The Shah Alam Art Site will be the focal point of many, particularly writers and students, to hold a relaxed and artistic performance.

“It will also provide space for students to exhibit works such as paintings and products to the public,” he said.

Mohd Jaafar said this at the Official Launching of the Shah Alam Art Site here in Section 2.

The Art Site will be open to for street music activities (basking) to enliven the environment in this area with various forms of art and creativity, thus developing talent.

He said that the people need to change the perception that back alleys of homes and business premises are solely the responsibility of local authorities.

He said that the public has a role to make the area lively and clean, and able to be used by the neighbourhood for relaxation and recreation.

“We will be more successful if all parties join our energy to ensure that this place is in a better, more comfortable and peaceful condition.

“Shopkeepers and the public is asked to ensure that the liveliness of this area is preserves,” said Mohd Jaafar.

“Apart from that, MBSA will also provide a covered parking for motorcycles in the area for safety and convenience,” he said.

MBSA plans to implement the Art Site in Section 7 to enliven the area because many students of institutes of higher learning live in the area, where facilities will be added.
