SHAH ALAM, 26 Mar: The Selangor Government will study the form of welfare that can be channeled to the families of the crew and passengers of flight MH370 which reportedly ended in the Indian Ocean on 24 March.
The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that he hopes that the public will not make any wild speculation regarding the tragedy that it hurts the feelings of those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
“The State Government is planning to study their welfare assistance, especially for the crew members of MH370 who were from Selangor. However, at this time, we must give sufficient space to the families and let them know that we are with them,” he said.
He said this during a press conference after chairing the State Government Executive Council Meeting at the State Government Secretary (SUK) building today.
On 24 March, the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, announced that the MH370 aircraft ended in the southern Indian Ocean after he was informed by the representative from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) from Britain.
The finding thus ended the 17-day search involving mass movements and help from various countries.
Currently, the search continues to find the black box that is capable of unlocking the mystery of the disappearance of the unfortunate aircraft.
