MPK Takes Down Illegal Bazaar Around Lorong Kepyangan

SHAH ALAM, 6 Apr: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) demolished a bazaar site at Loring Batu Tiga off Persiaran Sultan Ibrahim around Lorong Kepayangan for operating illegally over the past few years.

The MPK Director of Corporate Communications, Norfiza Mahfiz, said that the operation was coordinated by the MPK Building Department and was also joined by several other departments.

“Also involved was the Department of Enforcement, the Department of Environmental Services (JPP) and the Department of Engineering for the cleaning-up of the location which is situated near a bus station.

“The move to demolish the business site involves a bazaar that sells clothes and cooperation was well received by the vendor,” she told Selangor Kini today.

Norfiza said that the vendors at the bazaar took their goods out on their own and followed the council’s orders, and also helped in the clean-up.

She said that MPK pays serious attention to illegal premises that are in violation of Section 97 of the Drainage and Building Act 1974 (Act 133) and is monitoring and identifying several other locations that may face the same fate.
