Selangor Did Not Freeze Temporary Occupation Licence

SHAH ALAM, 28 Apr: Applications for Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) can still be made by the people of Selangor as there have not been any orders to freeze it by the State Government.

The Sekinchan Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim, said that the State Government did not freeze any application and is prepared to give ownership rights to those occupying land, including those with TOL status.

He said that the move by the Sabak Bernam District and Land Office (DLO), of previously freezing new applications, is likely to have been a misunderstanding of the State Government’s stand on the status.

“I personally directed this matter to the Chief Minister during the previous Selangor State Assembly (DNS) session and he informed that the TOL has not been frozen. Perhaps it was a misunderstanding by the land office on the matter,” he said, quoted from Sinar Harian.

Suee Lim said that any application for TOL can be sent to respective DLOs in the state. However, he stressed that the approval process will only be done at the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES) level.

“It should be noted that government reserve land, river sides and road reserves will not be considered. Only State Government land that is not reserved will be considered,” he said.

At the previous DNS session, the State Government stressed that there never was an order issued to freeze TOL applications.

The Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, said that action will be taken against those who issue statements or directives that contradict with the State Government.

He said that he will discuss with the State Government Secretary on the action to be taken against them.
