Among others, he said, the State Government, through the established committee, will conduct research and identify the best way to upgrade PPRs, which are occupied mostly by low-income earners.

“This effort includes reparation and maintenance of buildings, public facilities such as elevators, multipurpose halls, playgrounds, garbage collection centres and so on.

“In addition, we also want to ensure that the environment around PPRs are preserved,” he said in a press conference after the Executive Council Meeting today.

In conjunction with Labour Day tomorrow, Abdul Khalid also reiterated the State Government’s promise to empower the low-income earners in the state, who continue to be pressured with various increases in price of goods and services.

“In addition to assistance through Merakyatkan Ekonomi Selangor (MES) programmes, we will also introduce a special training programme for youth in rural areas.

“Among them includes plumbing and electrical training, which is experiencing high demand locally and abroad,” he said.
