PR Youth want Selangor CM issue to discussed at summit

SHAH ALAM, 7 Aug: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) Youth wants a summit to be held immediately to sort out the Chief Minister conundrum.

In a joint statement, the PAS Youth Leader, Suhaizan Kaiat; the AMK Chief, Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and the DAPSY Chief, Teo Kok Seong, said that the meeting between the top leaders of PR and Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will certainly solve the issue.

They said that the current crisis provides a bad picture to the younger generation who will inherit the future leadership.

“Young Malaysians want all problems that arise in PR to be resolved through negotiations immediately.

“In our opinion, the most reasonable solution at this stage is a summit,” they said in a statement.

On July 21, Anwar announced the PKR President, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, as the candidate to replace Abdul Khalid, but Abdul Hadi did not agree to it.

Yesterday, Abdul Khalid replied the show cause letter claimed by PKR in addition to lodging a report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) against himself for alleged misconduct.

PAS will hold a committee meeting this Sunday and they are expected to discuss this issue.

“Representing the youth wing, we also hope that the top leadership of PR, especially PAS, will be the facilitator of this summit.

“With PAS’s experience in the political conflict in Kelantan involving the Chief Minister tussle in 1977, it can be a guide and lesson to us all,” they added.
