Abdul Khalid denies working together with Umno to retain CM position

SHAH ALAM, 30 AUGUST: Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim refused to have a round table meeting with Umno to help him retain his position as the state’s number one person.

According to sources from a Malay Mail report, it was known that UMNO had invited Abdul Khalid to join them during the peak of the crisis surrounding the position, a month ago.

“That is not his way, not his method,” said an officer from Abdul Khalid’s office.

Sources close to Abdul Khalid informed that Umno needed Abdul Khalid for his expertise in the corporate world and also as former Chief Executive Officer of Guthrie Berhad.

Abdul Khalid was previously expelled from PKR and finally announced his resignation last Tuesday.
Malay Mail was told that Umno offered to help retain Abdul Khalid as Chief Minister and to work together with PAS.

However, Umno State Assemblymen in Selangor refused to comment on the issue.

A close source to Abdul Khalid also said that he is a man with principles and work hard for a clean administration.
