Abdul Khalid: “Satisfied with achievement, want to be remembered as a CM with integrity”

SHAH ALAM, 3 Sept: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that there is nothing more important for a Chief Minister other than protecting the rights and interests of the people and for it to be carried out with integrity, honestly and accountability.

Abdul Khalid said that this is because the true success of an administration is one that relies heavily on the attitude of a leader who is responsible and able to protect the trust given.

“I think that it is most important that they will receive me as someone who has carried out duties with trust and accountability regardless of whether working as an administrator, someone who carried out investment management or an administrator who is the Chief Minister.

“Because I have to carry out all these responsibilities with trust, integrity and as a result, I will do the best I can.

“So, I want to remind that I am considered as a person who wants to do what is right and good, not for self-interest, but for the people,” said Abdul Khalid in a special interview in conjunction with the Independence Day at the Chief Minister’s Office last Friday.

Abdul Khalid added that a leader should not give any reasons if they fail to implement a vision or if there are certain constraints that contributed to that failure.

“I am very satisfied with my achievements. Of course I cannot bring up things that I could not do. It would be better for us to state our achievements after we have done it.

“I think that it is not right if we cannot do this because of the restrictions. That is not right because I was given a chance and I have done it and I hope that with this opportunity, I have done the best for the people of Selangor,” said Abdul Khalid.
