SYABAS: 7 areas experience water supply disruption

SHAH ALAM, Sept 9: A total of seven areas around Gombak and Kuala Lumpur are still experiencing unscheduled water supply disruptions and low pressure as a result of reduced production of treated water from the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (SSP3) Water Treatment Plant (WTP).

The Selangor Water Supply Company (SYABAS) said that they have informed the Syarikat Pengluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SPLASH) that the reduction in the pumping of raw water is following the reduction in the level of water flow at Sungai Selangor on September 6.

“Among the areas affected in the Gombak area are Kampung Lembah Jaya, Lembah Jaya Selatan, Kampung Ampang Indah, Taman Mulia Jaya, Kampung Tasik Permai and Taman Pinggiran Ukay, as well as Taman Shamelin Perkasa in Kuala Lumpur,” said Syabas in the media statement.

SYABAS said that they, the Selangor Government and all operators involved are working to ensure that the disruption can be overcome in the near future.

“To help reduce the difficulties faced by consumers in areas that are still affected, SYABAS will send water tanker lorries and static tanks for the disruption of emergency water supply,” said SYABAS.
