“Although statistics are encouraging and the lowest recorded for this year after the Mega Ops ended, MBPJ will continue efforts so that dengue can be controlled.

The Mega Ops began on July 24 and ended on September 23 in four states; Selangor, Kelantan, Negeri Sembilan and the Federal Territory.

For MBPJ areas, 54 hotspots have been inspected, including landfills, storage centres for old goods, closed construction sites, business areas and schools.

Alinah also hopes that the public will cooperate and take care of the cleanliness to ensure that dengue can be combated.

“At the same time, we will also continue health campaigns, destroy breeding areas at hotspots, gotong royong and larvaciding.

“MBPJ will intensify various control methods and prevention at the grassroots” she said.
