SHAH ALAM, 9 Nov: The state government is disappointed that the central government is still delaying the implementation of the restructuring of the water industry in Selangor.
The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the state government will not give face to anyone who is trying to delay the restructuring of the water industry which has been signed.
He said that he does not want the delay to affect the consumers and people of Selangor, in particular.
“As stated by the minister, in five weeks there is an agreement that needs to be signed between the concessionaires and the state government for the implementation and that period will expire in the near future.
“But the Federal Government is still dilly-dallying and did not impose for the company to complete the restructuring of the water industry,” he said after officiating the opening ceremony of the Selangor Kindergarten Day 2014 at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) this morning.
Last September, the state government entered into a master agreement for the acquisition of the water industry in the presence of the former Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, and the Minister of Energy, Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus Ongkili.
At the same time, Mohamed Azmin said that until now, the ministry has not responded regarding the appeal to reveal the contents of the water agreement.
“My letter was sent three weeks ago. Until today, unfortunately, they have not answered.
“The minister does not want to disclose it. I will issue an official statement on the matter tomorrow,” he said.
