Selangor GP winner takes home a cash prize of RM40,000

SHAH ALAM, 22 Dec: The winner of the Selangor GP Grand Slam fishing competition, Jaafar Abdul Halim, 36, from Ipoh, Perak, managed to catch a catfish weighing 5.2 kilogram, taking home the cash prize of RM40,000.

The second prize winner took home a cash prize of RM8,000 and third place took home RM4,000 cash.

The competition organised by the Selangor government in collaboration with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) and managed by Wakjali Event Management, as the manager of the event, was held at the Shah Alam Lake yesterday.

Also present was the Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, together with the Deputy Mayor, Mokhtar Hani, to present the prizes to the winners.

The Selangor GP Grand Slam Fishing Competition 2014 did not only offer lucrative cash prizes amounting to RM121,000, but the organisation and the conditions of the participation this time was run entirely based on the tenets of Islam.

In addition, a Proton Saga and motorcycles were among the attractive prizes for the winners of the lucky draw.
