Rafizi arrested after reporting 1MDB issue

SHAH ALAM, 10 Mar: The police are continuing to arrest opposition leaders who go to police stations in the effort to investigate the pro-Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim gathering on March 7.

The PKR Vice-President, Rafizi Ramli, was arrested when he went to the Dang Wangi District Police Headquarters (IPD) in Kuala Lumpur to make a report regarding the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue.

Citing Malaysia Kini, the AMK Chief, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who was arrested two days ago is expected to be released tonight, said his lawyer.

Another leader of the Kita Lawan (We Fight) demonstration, Fariz Musa, was arrested today and has yet to be released.

According to information from the PKR bureau of communication, Rafizi was detained at about 7 pm after making a statement concerning allegations about 1MDB.

He is said to be detained under Section 143 of the Penal Code and also Section 9 (5) of the Peaceful Assembly Act related to the Kita Lawan Assembly.
