PJ City free bus to be expanded starting April 11

SHAH ALAM, 20 Mar: The free ‘PJ City Bus Service’ will expand its operation area to include SS2 and parts of Section 17 and 19 starting April 11.

A member of the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), Lee Suet Sen, said that public response has been encouraging since the start of the service from May 1 last year.

“A total of 10 buses allocated from Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd starts from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm, with a frequency of 25 minutes,” he said.

Until now, the number of passengers for the PJ01 service has increased from 3,500 passengers a day to 8,000 passengers.

MBPJ is targeting for the use of public transport to be improved and to help relieve traffic congestion problems in Petaling Jaya.

The route called “PJ02” will start from the Taman Jaya LRT station heading to Jalan Semangat and will cover main streets in SS2 before moving to Jalan Universiti and stopping at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC).
