Crane fell, 5 Malaysian hajj pilgrims confirmed dead

SHAH ALAM, 14 SEP: Yet another Malaysian pilgrim became a tragic victim of a fallen crane, bringing the total number of casualties up to five.

It was through a press statement today that Tabung Haji (TH) stated that another victim involved was confirmed safe.

“The latest body was identified by her relative in the Holy Land. She is Zainun Taha, a 69-year-old from Ampang,” he said.

“In the meantime, TH expressed sympathy towards the families of the victims involved in the tragedy.

“We are all saddened, sympathetic and we extend our condolences to all family members of the deceased. We also take the opportunity to advise them to be patient and strong in this trial.

“Let us join together and pray for them to placed among the spiritual and the good,” he added.

The incident happened around 4.30 pm (local time), killing at least 107 and injuring hundreds more.

At the same time, the Saudi Arabian government announced 1 Zulhijjah for its country on Tuesday, 15 September 2015, therefore wuquf (9 Zulhijjah) will take place on Wednesday, 23 September.
