SHAH ALAM, 12 Sept: The competition in the Selangor Games (SUKSES) 2015 has become even more interesting and intense with various events taking place today, especially athletics.
The medal tally also changes when Petaling took over the throne from Sepang, while Gombak and Hulu Langat went up to third and fourth.
In SUKSES 2013, Petaling managed to collect 21 gold, 15 silver and 21 bronze, and this was highlighted yesterday when they won nine gold medals in cycling (4), tenpin bowling (2), archery (2) and sepak takraw (1).
Gombak (13 gold, 6 silver, 19 bronze) and Hulu Langat (11 gold, 12 silver, 18 bronze) previously were in fifth and sixth, but managed to rise up and challenge with excellence in archery when they won five and four gold medals.
Sepang, which fell to second place, remains with 13 gold, 7 silver and 6 bronze.
Other districts, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat, are in fifth to ninth and will certainly rise up to the challenge after this.
Athletes representing their respective regions will continue today to win medals and the focus will definitely be in athletics, in addition to archery, cycling and sepak takraw.
Athletics will take place at the Jugra Stadium providing 37 medals and contesting several events with the attention being on the 100 metres men’s and women’s sprint.
