Selangor Government Takes Care of All Communities and Religions

SHAH ALAM, June 17: The Selangor Government promises to look after the welfare and well-being of all Selangorians, regardless of race or religion.

Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said that the approach is important as the ration between Malays and non-Malays is almost the same.

“We will ensure that every community in Selangor of different races such as Buddhist will receive attention from the State Government so that they can continue to live well.

“In the next five years, we will enhance programmes under the Localising the Selangor Economy agenda.

“Therefore, it is a shared responsibility between the races to correct all deficiencies in an effort to look after the people well,” he said in his opening speech at the state level Wesak Day Celebration here at the MBSA Auditorium.

Also present was the Exco for Local Government, Studies and Research, Datuk Teng Chang Khim and Exco for Investment, Industry, New Village Development and Illegal Factories Whitening, Ean Yong Hian Wah.

Also present was the Exco for Health, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Daroyah Alwi and the Chairman of the Wesak Celebrations governors, Loka Ng Sai Kai.

In addition, Abdul Khalid also urged everyone to embrace peace and harmony in all things.

“I want to remind us all to also respect each other because by respecting each other, it will bring equality to all races.

“Equality is strength. We also have to be attentive and responsible in our tasks and as the working people of Selangor, we are not bound to religion, culture and political ideology,” he said.
