SHAH ALAM, June 17: The Klang Land and District Office and the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) has managed to increase the collection from tax revenues to over RM300 million.

The success received praise from the Selangor Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim who said that it was the result of the effort of employees from the two agencies who successfully performed their duties effectively.

Abdul Khalid also said that the RM300 million amount is more than the tax collection by the Negeri Sembilan Government, where the population is equal to the population under the MPK.

“The Klang District Office has made significant improvements in Klang property management, especially in terms of revenue collection, collection of outstanding revenue and land premiums.

“This revenue shows that the Klang District and Land Office itself has received around RM120 to RM130 million to increase revenue,” said Abdul Khalid.

“If the combined income of the Klang Local Authority as an agency where the population is the same size as Negeri Sembilan.

“And the income of the Klang District and Land Office if found to be more than Negeri Semblian, this means that it is more than RM300 million.”

Abdul Khalid said this at a press conference at the Monthly Assembly of the Selangor State Departments here at the Silver Jubilee Hall today.

Earlier, in his speech in front of nearly a thousand civil servants, Abdul Khalid also asked them to shed their old mindset of simply apologising after making a mistake.

Abdul Khalid said that they should replace this culture with a culture of minimising errors.

Apart from that, Abdul Khalid also urged the Selangor civil servants to cultivate the ‘Clean, Transparent, Ability and Trust’ culture when providing services to the people of Selangor.
