KUALA LUMPUR, July 10: Kulai Member of Parliament, Teo Nie Ching questioned the actions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) of only providing some of the answers to questions submitted in this time’s Parliamentary session.

Even Nie Ching questioned the action of the House Speaker for allowing that to happen.

She said that she had asked the MOHA to provide answers on the number of police involving eight departments, the Management Department, the Special Branch, the Criminal Investigation Department, the MOHA/KA, the Commercial Crime Investigation, the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department, the Logistics Department and the Special Task Force.

“The amount given is not complete and only involves six departments. Why is the Special Branch and the Special Task Force excluded.

“Is this a sensitive issue that should be kept secret from the public?” she asked today in a press conference here in Parliament.

She said that right for MPs to submit questions should appropriately be replied with accurate and complete answers.

She said, it is as though Members of Parliament are denied by the Speaker and the MOHA to change questions without prior knowledge and to provide answers not as desired.

“The Special Branch and the Special Task Force should not be protected in the interest of particular quarters.

“What is seen is that these two departments execute surveillance tasks related to politics where most of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) programmes are recorded and reported to the Umno-BN government.

“These departments should be abolished and its members absorbed into other departments and should be addressing more critical crime problems,” she said.
