Tian Chua: Stop ‘Endless Possibilities’ Campaign

SHAH ALAM, 13 SEPT: The Umno-BN Government has been urged to stop continuing with their new ‘Endless Possibilities’ campaign because it is just a waste of public money and it has no meaning to the country.

PKR Vice-President, Tian Chua said that the new slogan which was recently launched proves that the previous ‘1Malaysia: People First, Performance Now’ failed to meet its objectives.

“It is a slogan which has no relevance to the people of Malaysia because it cannot be translated to the Malay language or other languages with real meaning.

“The slogan ‘Endless Possibilities’ does not give any meaning in our language, be it Mandarin or Tamil,” said Tian Chua when contacted by TVSelangor.

According to a report by The Malaysian Insider, the launch of ‘Endless Possibilities’ has been postponed from the original date of 17 September to an indefinite date after date after discovering that Mongolia used the same slogan 19 months before Malaysia.

It is understood that the officer who managed the campaign panicked because Mongolia is a sensitive subject after two Malaysian police officers were charged and acquitted on the charge of murdering a Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Tian Chua said that he urges the Umno-BN government to explain to the people regarding the claim that a foreign firm was used for the success of the ‘Endless Possibilities’ campaign.

He said that the leaders of Pakatan Rakyat previously slammed the Umno-BN government for using APCO Worldwide in providing communication consulting services to the government in the 1Malaysia campaign.

“For us, the campaign is not necessary when it is not relevant and does not make any sense, it is a matter which should be questioned because the campaign does not give any meaning to anyone,” said Tian Chua.

The campaign slogan was officially used for the first time in Davos last January during the World Economic Forum (WED) despite the Ministry of Tourism introducing it in Dubai in October 2012.

The campaign has been widely criticised as plagiarising the same campaign used by Israel starting last April.
