Selangor seeks opportunities to work with Google Malaysia

SHAH ALAM, 10 June: The Selangor government is seeking cooperation opportunities with Google Malaysia, especially in the fields of education and information technology.

The Exco for Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, said that it is to improve the culture of knowledge to be applied to the people in the state.

“To some extent, the development of the country depends on the successful development of talent. It starts with the younger generation through good education.

“The knowledge culture, especially latest technology, should also be applied to the communities in Selangor,” he said on Facebook.

Prior to this, he held a visitation with the State Government Secretary (SUK) Human Resource and Information Technology Division Office, the representatives of the University of Selangor (UNISEL) Information Technology Faculty and the representatives of the Selangor Islamic University College (KUIS) to the Google Malaysia headquarters in KL Sentral.

The visit was to learn about the world’s largest technology company, in addition to discussing cooperation opportunities.

They were also briefed about the culture of innovation and breakthroughs by Google Malaysia to resolve existing problems.
