SHAH ALAM, 19 Apr: Hat-trick goals in nine minutes by Mohd Afiq Azmi at the Shah Alam Stadium helped Selangor with a huge 4-0 victory against the Lions XII, thus maintaining the top position in the Super League.
Starting with a goal in the seventh minute, Afiq added the second goal in the 12th minute before completing his hat-trick in the 15th minute, leading his three goals to help in weakening the Lions XII defence machinery.
Import player, Guilherme de Paula, also played an important role in three of Afiq’s goals by completing Selangor’s goal count in the 78th minute by utilising all the errors by the visitor’s defence.
Afiq previously scored two goals against ATM two weeks ago and a hat-trick against Lions XII witnessed him collecting a total of seven goals, putting him as the second highest goal scorer in the Super League behind PDRM player, Mamadou.
Selangor will meet Kelantan on April 25 at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium.
