State government companies realise minimum wage of RM1,500

BATU CAVES, 2 May: The implementation of the RM1,500 minimum wage set by the Selangor Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has been realised among employees of state government-owned companies.

The Exco for Young Generation Development, Culture and Entrepreneur Development, Amirudin Shari, said that it clearly demonstrated the state government’s commitment in existing capabilities.

“At least we have implemented it for the staff at subsidiary companies and will be followed by the Fardhu Ain Class (KAFA) teachers after carrying out a detailed study.

“It clearly demonstrated our determination to safeguard the fate of civil servants in Selangor,” he said after launching the Selangor Netball programme at Dataran Belia today.

Prior to this, Selangor surpassed the Federal Government in implementing the minimum wage policy with the promise to pay RM1,500 as the starting salary at companies belonging to the state government.
