SHAH ALAM, 20 Apr: The harmonious atmosphere in Pekan Bukit Rotan, Kuala Selangor, can serve as an example when the people there accept houses of worship located near one another.
The Vice Presidents of the Malaysian Muslim Youth Movement (Abim), Fadhlina Sidek, said on Facebook that the actions of the group in Taman Medan who wanted the symbol of another religion to be taken down is similar to paranoids.
She said that issues of corruption, poverty and greed needs to be raised in discussions.
She was amazed by the atmosphere in Bukit Rotan where the people have been living harmoniously without problems for a long time.
“Each time I return to Sekinchan, I ask my husband to visit an area in Bukit Rotan, Kuala Selangor, because I love the scenery.
“On the hill there is a large Hindu temple, at the bottom there is a mosque, beside it is a church and another temple. I am calm seeing that the mosque is strong and carries out its functions,” she wrote.
