Farmers relieved to be given a new life

SHAH ALAM, 20 Apr: The burden of living for farmers in Selangor was reduced through incentives from the state government which approved the grant allocation for agricultural projects.

Farmer, Siti Fatonah Marzuki, 50, said that the aid helped reduce her burden of operating three agricultural farms since 2012.

“After receiving the grant, I could easily obtain help and the parties concerned are always attentive and monitor the farms if there is any problem.

“The assistance given can further develop my farm,” she said.

Siti Fatonah said this at the Agricultural Project Development Grant Presentation and Client Meeting 2015 organised by the Kuala Selangor District Department which was inaugurated by the Selangor Exco for Islamic Affairs, Agricultural Modernisation and Rural Development, Zaidy Abdul Talib.

Meanwhile, Borhanudin Halimi, 45, said that even though the cost of goods is increasing, it is not affecting his earnings because of the fertiliser and pesticide facilities allocated by the state government.

“I am very grateful to the state government and parties that approved the application of the local farmers.

“I hope that the government will continue to provide assistance to farmers so that the agricultural industry in Malaysia will be more advanced,” he said.
