SHAH ALAM, 6 Apr: The Selangor government remains the major contributor to the Abandoned Housing Project Recovery Fund (Tepat) despite many suggestions for the Selangor state subsidiary company to also contribute.
The Exco for Housing, Building Management and Urban Life, Datuk Iskandar Samad (PAS-Chempaka) said that the fund amounting to RM20 million, as announced by Chief Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali in the 2015 Budget will continue to be provided and the schedule for implementation has been submitted with a target of 1,200 units for a start.
“It is true that there are suggestions for the financial resources for Tepat to come from other sources such as state government subsidiary companies.
“However, after being brought up again in the Exco, the initial planning as in the budget speech by the Chief Minister that the state government contributes to this fund will be continued,” he said during the winding-up session under the Exco portfolio.
Meanwhile, touching on the development of the Malay Reserve Land (TRM), he explained that the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS) visited the Malacca Customs Land Development (Pertam) last year to personally look at the model carried out.
He said that the matter is still being reviewed based on the development experience in Malacca.
