45 Zakat recipients receive lorries worth RM55,000 each

SHAH ALAM, 12 Mar: 45 poor and needy Zakat recipient entrepreneurs involving nine districts received lorries worth RM55,000 each from the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS).

This was an effort by LZS to develop poor and needy recipients who have potential in businesses, not only in financial teams, but they are also provided training courses to increase entrepreneurship among them.

8.1

A trader, Mohd Naim Hamzah, 48, said that now he is able to support his family and leave the clutches of poverty with the help of the lorry from LZS.

“I am grateful to LZS for contributing a lorry to facilitate my trade and expand my existing business.

“Thanks to LZS and MAIS for giving me the opportunity to leave the poor and needy group,” he told Selangor Kini today.

Food vendor Siti Mariam Mohamat, 44, said that she has had various jobs to support six of her children who are still in school.

“Thank God, I am very grateful especially to Zakat payers and LZS which has helped a lot in changing the life of our family compared to before.

“The contribution of the lorry would help me and my family go further in increasing our income,” she said.

She said that recipients involved can move further to widen their businesses through the presentation of this Zakat assistance.

8.3

Meanwhile, the LZS Chief Executive Officer, Hussin Mohd Ali, said that LZS is constantly striving to carry out improvements through discussions with all members, in addition to cooperation with agents to ensure that the distribution reaches the receiver.

“I call on all members of society to provide support to mobile entrepreneurs so that they can grow and remain in their businesses,” he said.
