Antique electric ‘Rolls Royce’ cars to explore the beauty of Sekinchan

SEKINCHAN, 9 Mar: Five antique cars using electric energy that is capable of carrying up to 11 passengers are the new attraction for tourism in Sekinchan.

The uniqueness is that the ‘Rolls Royce’ looking cars have a roofless concept that allows tourists to directly appreciate the paddy fields and the beach.

The Exco for Tourism, Elizabeth Wong, said that the vehicles are initiatives of the local residents that were imported from China.

“The Sekinchan Tourism Development Association spent about RM300,000 to purchase these vehicles.

“Tourism associations from other districts can visit Sekinchan to learn how they develop their tourism industry by packaging all roles and privileges so that this region becomes famous among tourists,” he said.

Elizabeth said that the unique and fresh approach will boost Sekinchan as a tourist attraction.

“I was personally excited to ride it. The passenger area is open without windows, allowing us to feel the fresh breeze.

“You should personally experience rural tourism with these antique cars,” she said.

She said this when met by Selangor Kini at the Opening Ceremony of the Visit Selangor Year 2015 for Sekinchan today.

Also present was the Sekinchan Assemblyman, Ng Suee Lim, and the General Manager of Tourism Selangor, Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din.

The ticket prices are as low as RM10 for adults and RM5 for children. Tourists will be taken across the vast paddy fields and visit Rumah Nenek, the Paddy Gallery, the Fishing Village and several other areas of interest.

Among the famous tourism products in Sekinchan is the landing jetty for quality and fresh seafood, Sekinchan mangoes, the homestay, the panoramic beauty of the rice fields and the small and medium industries (SMIs) and village food products.
