BANDAR BARU BANGI, 22 Jan: The garbage collection service schedule for the area of Bangi is still not satisfactory as there are contractors who have still failed to comply with the prescribed procedures.
Bangi Assemblyman, Shafie Ngah, said that garbage should be collected three times a week, but there are companies that only collect garbage twice a week.
He said that the situation cripples the ‘Bangi is Clean’ programme, as planned.
“Companies that only collect garbage twice a week should be given stern warning so that they may improve the quality of service.
“Otherwise, we will ask for them to be changed,” he told Selangor Kini.
To ensure that the matter is given attention, he will meet with the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) to focus on business premises and public awareness on hygiene.
In addition, awareness on separation of waste and the attitude of not throwing food into drains will be given attention.
He said that he will also focus on repairing critical damages at two roads in Putra Kajang and Bukit Mahkota.
“These two roads were reported to have been damaged over a year ago and he has written a special letter to the Chief Minister for further action,’ he said.
