Pahang CM expresses gratitude over flood donation by Selangor government

KUANTAN, 31 Dec: The Chief Minister of Pahang, Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, expressed his appreciation and thanks for the cash donation of RM100,000 from the Selangor government to help flood victims in the state.

The Chief Minister of Selangor, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the matter was personally said by Adnan through a phone call yesterday.

“The meeting with the Chief Minister of Pahang had to be represented by the State Government Senior Exco Member because Datuk Seri Adnan informed me that his sister-in-law passed away and he had to arrange for the body to be taken to Bentong for the funeral.

“However, Datuk Seri Adnan expressed his appreciation and thanked the Selangor government for the donation and he sent his Senior Exco Member, Datuk Shafik Fauzan Sharif, to receive the donation on behalf of the Pahang government just now,” he said when met by Selangor Kini at the Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport before returning to Selangor yesterday.

Mohamed Azmin said that in addition for being grateful for the cash assistance, the Pahang government also welcomed efforts by Selangor to help in the restoration work in the second phase.

“The Pahang government welcomes the efforts of the state government of not just donating RM100,000, but they are happy with Selangor’s commitment to go to Pahang as soon as the water recedes to help flood victims clean up their homes and housing area.
