21,000 Tawas children receive RM50 for entering Standard 1

BUKIT ANTARABANGSA, 3 Oct: The state government has approved an allocation of RM1 million to the first group of the Selangor Children’s Heritage Fund (Tawas) to give them RM50 for entering Standard 1 next year.

The Chief Minister, Mohamed Azmin Ali, said that the allocation has been approved at the recent Executive Council meeting.

He said that it involves over 21,000 Tawas children who are involved and registered in 2008.

“We hope that this contribution can help the families in the next school session,” he said during the prayer event in conjunction with his appointment as the Chief Minister here are the Bukit Antarabangsa Mosque last night.

In addition, he also announced the construction of the religious school in the Bukit Antarabangsa will be expedited.

“We already have the site and it was identified four years ago..

“I have talked to the State Government Secretary and the Financial Officer on the matter,” he said.

He said with the existence of the school, students will be able to learn religious knowledge as best possible.
