MPSJ should cooperate with the community to combat dengue

SUBANG JAYA, 30 Sept: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) advised the community to work together to care for hygiene of their residential areas and its surroundings in effort to prevent and combat dengue in Subang Jaya from spreading.

Continued efforts are needed to ensure that the city does not face the problem of an outbreak of a worrying level. A total of 6,000 cases have been reported in the area under the local authority (LA) from January to September 27.

“In relation to that, the fight against dengue cases, it is hoped by MPSJ that the residents should ensure that their premises are free from Aedes breeding places by spending at least 10 minutes to find and destroy the breeding grounds.

“Community cooperation by implementing the 10 Minute Campaign and working together is needed to ensure that dengue cases can be reduced,” he said in a speech here at the MPSJ Monthly Meeting today.

MPSJ is focusing on eight hotspots with identified dengue cases, namely SS 17/1 with 40 cases, Taman Puchong Utama 12 (35), Pusat Bandar Puchong (Jalan Wawasan 2) (15), Bandar Bukit Puchong 1 (Bandar Bukit Puchong Flats) and SS 14/6 Subang Jaya (14), Taman Equine (Putra Permai Apartments) (12), PJS 9 Bandar Sunway (PJS 9/2 – PJS 9/30) (eight) and USJ 18 Subang Jaya (eight).
