Abdul Khalid ready to be investigated, suggests for PKR to immediately report to MACC

SHAH ALAM, 4 Aug: Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim expressed his willingness to give his full commitment and cooperation if an investigation is conducted against him for misconduct involving the transactions involving the sale of land in Selangor.

While denying the allegations, the Chief Minister of Selangor also reminded the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Secretary-General, Datuk Saifuddin Nasution, and other party leaders to be cautious in making any accusations or statements.

He said that the allegation of misconduct should be taken seriously and also that he reserves his right to initiate any legal proceedings arising from defamatory statements made against him.

“If Datuk Saifuddin believes them to be true however, he and his associates should immediately lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Royal Malaysian Police and Bank Negara, as well as immediately expose any and all evidence to substantiate his claims.

“Failure to do so can only invite speculation that these accusations are politically motivated and in bad faith,” he said in a statement today.

Abdul Khalid is also determined to continue to serve the people of Selangor to the best of his ability, with the fullest commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance.

Today, PKR claimed that Abdul Khalid was involved in questionable activities involving transactions for the sale of land in the state.

Saifuddin said that the sale occurred shortly after a month Abdul Khalid reached a settlement out of court on the debt case with Bank Islam.

“Within a month after the settlement, we found some developments that reinforced doubts involving transactions totalling hundreds of millions which profited Eco World Berhad, a company controlled by Tan Sri Rashid Manaf as the Chairman and the main shareholder,” he said at the PKR Head Office in Petaling Jaya today.

He claimed that Eco World acquired 308.7 acres of land which was sold by Tropicana Corp Berhad which bought it previously from the Selangor Government in April 2013.

He said that the transaction of the sale to Eco World happened on March 19 after the Bank Islam debt settlement with Abdul Khalid in February.
