Polls: 62% want Khalid to be reappointed as CM if DNS is dissolved

SHAH ALAM, 30 July: 61.85 percent of Astro Awani web portal readers want Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to be reappointed as the Chief Minister of Selangor if they give another mandate through a state election.

The poll which was launched since yesterday also shows 9.07 percent choosing the , Assemblywoman for Kajang, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, 4.62 percent choosing Iskandar Samad (Assemblyman for Cempaka) and 4.58 percent choose Mohamed Azmin Ali (Bukit Antarabangsa).

Meanwhile, 19.94 percent answered ‘none from the above’ for the question ‘who should be the CM of Selangor’ (if the Selangor State Assembly is dissolved).

For the question ‘should the Selangor State Assembly (DNS) be dissolved to get a new mandate from the people, 65.68 percent answered ‘no’ compared to 34.32 percent who agreed for it to be dissolved.

As for the third question, 50.52 percent believes that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will split after the Aidilfitri celebration due to the Selangor Chief Minister crisis, compared to 31.72 percent who answered ‘no’ and 18 percent did not know.

The poll was the second general survey carried out since the crisis on Abdul Khalid’s position as Chief Minister of Selangor started.

Prior to this, the latest results of a poll conducted on poll.pollcode.com since 23 July showed that 5,758, or 82 percent, choose to let Abdul Khalid remain as Chief Minister of Selangor compared to 661 people, or 9 percent, who wanted Wan Azizah to replace Abdul Khalid.

The latest results show increased support towards Abdul Khalid when 2,983 people voted for him as of 9.00 am on 24 July.

The latest results also show a total of 126 people or two percent in the poll choose Mohamed Azmin and 499 (7 percent) choose for the Selangor State Assembly to be dissolved.
